David joined the Boy Scouts of America in 2004 to launch the ecommerce initiative, scoutstuff.org. In 2005, he took leadership of the BSA’s licensing program, growing it from 18 licensees to more than 130 today.

In his current assignment with the BSA, David provides leadership to the Business Development Team’s current and new initiatives, and oversees the development and implementation of the BSA’s licensing strategy and trademark protection program. He actively supports a number of key organizational initiatives through his service on special purpose teams and task forces. Among his latest projects are applications of mobile technologies in customer-focused retail and electronic publishing.

Prior to joining the Boy Scouts of America, David held senior-level marketing positions including Vice President, Strategic Services at the Jackson Group/Total Response, Managing Partner of Taylor-Harkins Group, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Colman Brohan Davis, Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President, Customer Care at Geneer, and VP, Marketing and Product Development at Nykamp Consulting Group. He has also advised many well-known companies including, Microsoft, Disabled American Veterans, National Alzheimer’s Association, National Safety Council, and Telenisus. 

David was an active Scouting volunteer for thirteen years and his roles included, District Membership Chairman, Den Leader, Pack Committee Chair, Troop Chaplain, Venturing Crew Associate Advisor, and Chartered Organization Representative. He is a recipient of the God and Service Award and has completed Wood Badge (SR1016 - Buffalo). Two of his girls were active in Venturing; one earned a Venturing Silver Award, the other a Venturing Bronze. His son is an Eagle Scout.
