Cathy Ammirati has worked for the Micron Foundation K12 Education Outreach Program since 2011. Cathy has a strong passion around STEM education which has deep personal roots starting in her elementary years, which grew in her own STEM education & career. As part of the K12 Education Outreach Program, Cathy takes hands-on STEM lessons out to classrooms and leads STEM career awareness activities in schools and at Micron. Cathy graduated from Willamette University with a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science. Hewlett Packard recruited her prior to graduation and she enjoyed a career at HP for 15 years. She was a Firmware engineer and Competitive Analysis Engineer for LaserJet Printers, then moved into management of Firmware & Software teams for Laser & Ink Jet Printer at the Project, Program and Section level to round out her years at HP. Before starting at the Micron Foundation, she was a preschool teacher while she pursued her Secondary Mathematics Teaching Certification from ABCTE. Cathy & her husband have 2 kids 9 & 12 years old, giving her inspiration day after day.
